How to Update CNAME Records in GoDaddy for Floify

Overview

At Floify, we understand the importance of seamless integration and smooth operations. To ensure your custom domain works flawlessly with Floify, you will need to update your CNAME records in your DNS host, such as GoDaddy. This guide will walk you through the steps to update your CNAME records in GoDaddy.

Step-by-Step Guide to Update CNAME Records in GoDaddy

  1. Log in to Your GoDaddy Account:

    • Open your web browser and go to the GoDaddy website.
    • Click on the "Sign In" button at the top right corner and enter your username and password.
  2. Access Your Domain Settings:

    • Once logged in, click on your username at the top right corner to open the account menu.
    • Select "My Products" from the dropdown menu.
    • In the "Domains" section, locate the domain you want to update and click on the "DNS" button next to it.
  3. Navigate to DNS Management:

    • In the DNS Management section, you will see a list of your domain's DNS records.
  4. Add a New CNAME Record:

    • Click on the "Add" button to create a new DNS record.
    • From the "Type" dropdown menu, select "CNAME".
  5. Enter the CNAME Details:

    • Name: Enter the subdomain you want to use. For example, if you are setting up a subdomain like subdomain.yourdomain.com, enter "subdomain".
    • Value: Enter the CNAME record provided by Floify. This is usually a URL that Floify has given you to point to our servers.
    • TTL: Set the TTL (Time To Live) to the default value or any value you prefer.
      • Note - If your DNS records are stable and unlikely to change often, a longer TTL can reduce the load on DNS servers and speed up DNS resolution for users.
  6. Save the Record:

    • After entering the CNAME details, click on the "Save" button to update your DNS settings.
  7. Verify the Update:

    • DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. Please let Floify support know when the records have been updated to verify.

Additional Tips:

  • Double-Check Your Entries: Ensure that you have entered the correct values for the Name and Value fields to avoid any configuration issues.
  • Contact Support: If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, you can contact GoDaddy support for help.

By following these steps, you'll successfully update your CNAME records in GoDaddy, ensuring your custom domain works perfectly with Floify. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at Floify.
